An archive does not have to be important to be useful. It can contain a receipt, a screenshot, the name of a song, or the sentence somebody said while waiting for the kettle.

The point is not to preserve everything. The point is to make a few careful refusals: this day should not disappear completely; this image deserves another look; this link led somewhere worth remembering.

An incomplete list

Ticket stubs. Bad photographs. Good sentences. The first draft. A map with a coffee stain. The exact blue of a swimming pool at 5pm.

Maybe the archive is just a way of saying that attention happened here.
